Dear Sisters and Brothers, Attached please find a document titled “Tentative 2018 Railroad National Agmt. Wage Increase & Health Care Cost Analysis.” This documents addresses the cumulative wage gain you will realize over the term of the tentative National Agreement beginning January 1, 2015 and running through December 31, 2019. There seems to be some misconception out there that, after the changes in the health care insurance are implemented, the changes will wipe out any wage increases you may realize. Well nothing could be further from the truth. Please share the attached document with your members. It shows that the “Cumulative Wage Gain” over the term of the contract will be $20,124. When the health care changes are taken into consideration, worst-case scenarios being used, the Cumulative Wage Gain for single employees minus the cost of their increased health care costs will be $18,049, and for employees with at least one dependent will be $15,974.
