Dear Sisters and Brothers, It has recently been brought to our attention that some of our members are being charged the new rates for certain health care coverage that were negotiated in the recent agreement now in place for many railroad employees. As you are all aware, the IBEW has not yet settled this round of bargaining, therefore the changes do not apply to our members. To date, we have only received about 5 complaints, and all have been addressed and taken care of. If you have any members who are being charged the higher copays, please either you let us know or have the members contact us directly. We would appreciate receiving the information from you/them via email so that we may properly follow up on the issues. The information should include the member’s name, the railroad the member works for, the member’s Social Security number, the name of the company which administers that particular member’s insurance (i.e. Aetna, BC/BS, or UHC), and the member’s insurance ID number. Unfortunately mistakes like this occur occasionally, and the new agreement in place for many of the other organizations increases the chances of such errors. You can rest assured that as soon as we are made aware of such issues we will address them immediately. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Fraternally & in Solidarity, Bill Bohné, Jr. Director - IBEW Railroad Department 202-728-6016
