Brothers and Sisters:
This office has been advised that in preparation for the implementation of "Positive Train Control" in September of this year (2015), CN will begin training its locomotive electricians on how to perform the PTC pre-departure inspection test while complying with current PTC regulations.
Our members will be required to complete a pre-departure inspection course as well as attend Hours of Service Training since our members will now be subject to Hours of Service Regulations. In connection with the Hours of Service Regulations, you should be aware that you will now be placed in a pool that subjects you to random drug testing. Please notify the local membership to be governed accordingly.
